Trainings and Workshops for Youth Ministry

As congregations and district committees engage in ministry to and with youth it’s important for everyone concerned to have a sound understanding of just what the phrase youth ministry suggests and with that understanding how then we plan for and implement youth ministry.

If your congregation wants to learn more about youth ministry, to equip youth with leadership skills, to prepare adults as youth advisors, and to understand the safety issues of youth ministry contact me at bsherman@uua.org. Ideally, several congregations in a geographical cluster would send a team of interested people to this day long training, Youth Ministry in Congregations, at a minimal expense.

Additionally, if your congregation wants to help youth in 7-12th grades learn more about leadership skills within their congregation, at youth conferences and in other ways you can also contact me. While this Leadership Skills for Youth workshop is mostly for youth, adults can also attend. The same structure as above would apply.

If your congregation is willing to host a UUA sponsored training you can contact me for further information. The Office of Youth Ministries has several such as
