Dear Good People of NNED,

 

You are really amazing! It’s been just over two weeks since I journeyed here from my home near Houston, Texas to begin this work as your District Executive. As I’ve encountered the genuine warmth of your hospitality, I’ve quickly gone from feeling ‘far from’ to ‘right at’ home. From the fullness of my heart I want to thank you for the welcome I received from those of you gathered at our NNED Spring Conference, from those at the ministers’ retreat that preceded the Conference, and from the dozens who’ve welcomed me in emails and hand-written notes.

 

The Rev. Dr. Rebecca Parker describes the mission of progressive faith as “expanding circles of people united together for life.” Thank you for welcoming me into your circle. I'm thrilled by the prospects of working with you on your unique and our common missions of compassion, blessing, and transformation, and I look forward to coming to your congregation to witness your mission in action.

 

Lastly, my gratitude goes out to our District staff and all of the volunteers who contributed to an extraordinary Spring Conference.

A Brief Review of the Spring Conference

Fourteen people from the Unitarian Universalist Society of Burlington, VT attended the 4th annual Northern New England Unitarian Universalist Conference in North Conway, NH during the weekend of April 13 -14, 2012.
